Weathervane Theatre to Present Holiday Entertainment this December

THE LION, THE WITCH, AND THE WARDROBE, WHO'S HOLIDAY, and NORTH COUNTRY CHRISTMAS will play December 1- 8, 2024.

Performances will be held at the Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa in Whitefield and the Medallion Opera House in Gorham.

WHITEFIELD, NH—Weathervane Theatre is pleased to announce it will present holiday programming for the second year. Three productions—The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, A North Country Christmas, and last year’s hit Who’s Holiday!— will be presented in alternating rep over one week in the Presidential Hall at the Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa. Weathervane’s holiday season is sponsored by Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa.

“We are thrilled to partner again with the Weathervane Theatre for our upcoming holiday season,” said Mountain View Grand Managing Director Lloyd Van Horn. “Last year’s season was a huge success, and so many of our guests are fans of the theatre. It is a big part of the experience here at Mountain View Grand during the summer, and we are excited to be able to offer the experience in the winter as well.”

Weathervane’s holiday season will open on December 1st with le Clanché du Rand’s theatrical adaptation of C.S. Lewis’s classic The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe. In Narnia, the land of eternal winter, the White Witch controls all—until a young girl named Lucy arrives. Travel through the enchanted wardrobe with Peter and Lucy for this entertaining and innovative treatment of C.S. Lewis’s classic tale of the triumph of good over evil. Jorge Donoso and Kelly Strandemo star in this two-actor adaptation of this heroic tale of love, faith, courage, and giving.

Also opening on December 1st is the smash hit from last year’s holiday season—Who’s Holiday! starring Marisa Kirby. Written by Matthew Lombardo, Who’s Holiday! is an adults-only comedy about How The Grinch Stole Christmas’ Cindy Lou Who, who is now all grown up…and lives in a trailer park. Join Cindy Lou Who for this wildly funny and heartfelt comedy as she recalls that Christmas Eve when she first met the Grinch and the twisted turn of events her life has now taken. In addition to performances at Mountain View Grand, Who’s Holiday! will also perform at Gorham’s Medallion Opera House on Saturday, December 7th.

Rounding out Weathervane’s holiday season is a brand-new holiday musical revue, A North Country Christmas, opening December 2nd. Conceived by Ethan Paulini and Kelly Strandemo, join your Weathervane friends on a festive fireside frolic through favorite holiday songs and traditions with a very merry North Country twist. A North Country Christmas stars Jorge Donoso, Marisa Kirby, and Kelly Strandemo.

“It was incredibly fulfilling to present live theatre here in the North Country last season,” said Weathervane’s Producing Artistic Director Ethan Paulini. I’m thrilled to partner with Mountain View Grand and the Medallion Opera House to spread holiday cheer this year.”
