The resident professional performance company will be filled in accordance with our contract with Actors’ Equity Association (LOA, ref LORT-D). AEA auditions have concluded for Season 58.

Local auditions were held in May for North Country Shakes, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Mamma Mia!, and Guys and Dolls.

  1. 1-minute Shakespeare monologue of your choice or choose one from the packet. 
  2.  1-minute song of choice or choose one from the packet.

PLEASE NOTE: There will no accompanist. Please bring an instrumental track for your song selection. Amplification available. You may also sing a cappella.

Weathervane internship program

Weathervane Intern Company

The Weathervane Theatre Internship Program (WIP) is a total immersion experience of practical theatre arts training and networking. WIPs live, work, learn, and play alongside the professional actors and staff from the Broadway and regional theatre communities and perform in original children’s theatre and Mainstage productions throughout the season. A rigorous schedule, WIPs increase their stamina, performance longevity, and work ethic rehearsing one show during the day while performing another at night. Interns are provided with housing, some meals, and a stipend.

Notable WIP alum: Brittney Johnson and 2018 Tony Award winner Ari’el Stachel.

ADMINISTRATION

Dates of Employment – 5/23/23-10/16/23

Salary – $325 a week

Housing: Single occupancy room with en suite bath

Some food and meals provided. Kitchen access.

Description

Responsible for overseeing the day to day function of the private residence of the Weathervane Theatre and for the well being of the Resident Company. Will work closely with Operations Manager and Company Manager.

Duties

  • Preparing rooms for company members, this includes light cleaning and linen changes. 
  • Grocery shopping and tracking food orders for company kitchens, set up and clean up company provided meals. 
  • Creating and overseeing a weekly cleaning rotation for all non union company members. Keeping housing stocked with cleaning goods and paper goods. 
  • Maintaining the company fleet. 
  • Welcoming all incoming Company Members upon arrival. 
  • Assisting in pick up/drop off for Company Members. 
  • Creating a daily Transportation Schedule with stage management and production. 
  • Uphold company members to the House Rules. 
  • Responsible for company crisis management. 


A valid driver’s license is required for this position. 

MUSICIANS

Description

The preferred candidate will music direct The Old Man and the Old Moon and additional Patchwork Players, our Theatre for Youth programming, productions. In addition this person will collaborate in collaboration with the Resident Music Director for Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Mamma Mia!, and Guys and Dolls.  Mainstage music directing opportunities available if interested.

Duties

  • Assist Music Director in Mainstage music rehearsals
  • Music direct Patchwork Player productions (The Old Man and the Old Moon, The Rainbow Fish Musical, The Best of Patchwork 2023)
  • Play in band for all Mainstage musicals (primarily Keys 2)

 

Desired Skills

  • Proficient on piano
  • General knowledge of using patch change software (like Mainstage)

Contract length can vary between 3 weeks and a full season; everyone with any kind of availability should apply.

 

Salary – $400 a week

Housing: Double occupancy room with en suite bath

Description

This person works in collaboration with our Sound Designer to execute the designs for all productions. Design opportunities available if interested.

Duties

  • Assist in load ins/out and changeovers
  • Assist in maintaining the sound equipment, microphones, and speakers. 

Desired Skills 

  • Comprehensive understanding of sound mechanics and design
  • Ability to mix and run a soundboard 
  • Basic knowledge of microphones and elements
  • Able to lift 30 lbs repeatedly. 

A valid driver’s license is preferred but not required.
