Weathervane Announces 2025 Patchwork Season

WHITEFIELD, NH—Weathervane Producing Artistic Director Ethan Paulini and Intern Program Director Marisa Kirby are proud to announce the 2025 Patchwork Players Season—The Wizard of Oz, Polkadots: The Cool Kids Musical, Last Chance Tuesday, and Somebody’s Got Your Back: Celebrating Disney Sidekicks. Sponsored by Crosstown Motors, Mascoma Bank, and New England Wire Technologies, this year’s 35th season will run July 1st through August 22nd at the Weathervane and begins touring the North Country July 2nd.

 

For the sixth consecutive season, performances at the Weathervane will be held outside as part of the popular Picnic with Patchwork series. The opening performance of the Patchwork season will be on Tuesday, July 1st at 11 AM, with all other Weathervane performances held Friday mornings at 11 AM July 11 – August 22nd. Bring a blanket and a snack at this pet-friendly event and enjoy an excellent show for the whole family (even the family dog!). In case of rain, alternate arrangements will be made (check Weathervane’s social media for the latest updates).

THE WIZARD OF OZ

Follow the yellow brick road to join Dorothy and her friends as they face the Wicked Witch and achieve their hearts’ desires in this abridged version of L. Frank Baum’s classic tale. Plays July 1 – 11.

 

POLKADOTS: THE COOL KIDS MUSICAL

Inspired by the events of The Little Rock 9, the award-winning musical Polkadots is a colorful history lesson for people of all ages – reminding us that our individual differences make us awesome, not outcasts. Plays July 16 – 25.

LAST CHANCE TUESDAY

Will our one-eyed pup hero Fayo find his forever home? Join us on this sweet, family-friendly canine comedy about second chances. Plays July 30 – August 8. 

 

SOMEBODY’S GOT YOUR BACK: CELEBRATING DISNEY SIDEKICKS

You ain’t never had a friend like a Disney sidekick! Featuring music from Sebastian, Olaf, Genie, and more, don’t miss this one-of-a-kind tribute to Disney’s beloved companions who make every story truly magical! Plays August 13 – 22.

These productions will be performed by the 2025 Patchwork Players, composed of college-aged individuals selected from a highly competitive nationwide search.

 

In addition to performing at the Weathervane, these productions will play on the road at Bethlehem’s Colonial Theatre, Colebrook’s Great North Woods Center for the Arts, and in Lisbon. ABOUT THE WEATHERVANE

The Weathervane Theatre was founded in 1965 by Gibbs Murray and the late Tom Haas and is under the leadership of Producing Artistic Director Ethan Paulini. It has presented high-quality professional productions of plays and musicals for over half a century.
