The resident professional performance company will be filled in accordance with our contract with Actors’ Equity Association (LOA, ref LORT-D). For the 2025 season, Weathervane is seeking union and non-union talent. Weathervane will also hire members of their 2025 Patchwork Players Troupe from these auditions. Weathervane hires from AEA auditions in NYC and Boston as well as unified theatre conferences (A1s, UPTAs, Strawhats).

Weathervane internship program

Weathervane Intern Company

The Weathervane Theatre Internship Program (WIP) is a total immersion experience of practical theatre arts training and networking. WIPs live, work, learn, and play alongside the professional actors and staff from the Broadway and regional theatre communities and perform in original children’s theatre and Mainstage productions throughout the season. A rigorous schedule, WIPs increase their stamina, performance longevity, and work ethic rehearsing one show during the day while performing another at night. Interns are provided with housing, some meals, and a stipend.

Notable WIP alum: Brittney Johnson and 2018 Tony Award winner Ari’el Stachel.

 

We will be hiring our 2024 interns from our NYC + Boston auditions, A1s, UPTAs, and Strawhats.

Description

Weathervane Theatre seeks Seasonal Part-Time Box Office Associates to provide excellent customer service to theatre patrons during our 59th season. The ideal candidate will possess good communication skills in person and over the phone. The ideal candidate will also be detail-oriented, reliable, prompt, and flexible. We seek positive, friendly, outgoing individuals who can work a flexible schedule, as the shifts available will vary weekly.

Duties

  • Sell new subscriptions and single tickets for all performances and events – over the phone, in person, and via email. 
  • Provide helpful information for performances, pricing options, parking, directions, and seating information. 
  • Patron Relations –  resolve patron inquiries and complaints. 
  • Maintain familiarity with subscription and single ticket marketing initiatives, donor benefits, Weathervane Theatre events, and the website.
  • Guide patrons through their online interactions when needed. Maintain a professional appearance in dress and attitude. Have a general appreciation for and understanding of live theatre.
  • Patron record maintenance –  filing and updating patron records. 
  • Assist with House Management as needed.

Description

Weathervane Theatre seeks Seasonal Part-Time Associate House Managers to provide excellent customer service to theatre patrons during our 59th season. The ideal candidate will possess good communication skills and be detail-oriented, reliable, prompt, and quick on their feet. We seek positive, friendly, outgoing individuals who can work a flexible schedule, as the shifts available will vary weekly and directly coordinate with our Mainstage performance schedule.

Duties: 

  • Collaborate with the front-of-house manager to ensure a smooth house operation during the performance. 
  • Work closely with the box office manager to resolve ticketing issues
  • Responsible for ensuring excellent customer service from front-of-house staff.
  • Provides an excellent patron experience at all performances. 
  • Patron Relations –  resolve patron inquiries and complaints. 
  • Supervise volunteer ushers and assist with seating as needed.
  • Have a general appreciation for and understanding of live theatre.
  • If comfortable, associate house managers may be asked to give the pre-show curtain speech. 
  • Maintains the appearance of the lobby and all public areas; communicates with Maintenance as necessary to ensure a clean environment.
  • Coordinates performance timelines with stage management, including pre-show chat, curtain speeches, and intermission.
  • Completes and distributes house report for each performance.
  • Provides leadership in emergency situations, including fire alarm and inclement weather warnings.
  • Works closely with management to ensure proper staff is in place for all performances.
  • Works to ensure all house management needs are met.

Duties

  • Attend one band rehearsal, tech rehearsals as needed, and all performances.

Description
Playing Reed 1 (alto sax, flute, oboe if you have it, tenor sax) for our production of Beautiful: The Carole King Musical. May cover some cues from the Reed 2 book as needed.

Description
Everyone’s Talking About Jamie, The Full Monty, and Cabaret. Also would swing in for the closing portion of our run of The Wedding Singer. These shows run in rep, so performances are stretched over a longer period, each night being a different show.


Drum set provided by the theatre, but any extra cymbals and misc. Percussion to enhance the show would be great to bring.

Duties

  • Attend one band rehearsal for each show, tech rehearsals as needed, and
    all performances.

Description

This person works in collaboration with our Sound Designer to execute the designs for all productions. Design opportunities available if interested.

Duties

  • Assist in load ins/out and changeovers
  • Assist in maintaining the sound equipment, microphones, and speakers. 

Desired Skills 

  • Comprehensive understanding of sound mechanics and design
  • Ability to mix and run a soundboard 
  • Basic knowledge of microphones and elements
  • Able to lift 30 lbs repeatedly. 

A valid driver’s license is preferred but not required.

Description

We are seeking experienced bar staff for our lobby bar. Weathervane Theatre is a live professional theatre with a bar open whenever a Mainstage performance or event occurs. We are looking for fun and energetic people to join our team and serve drinks and snacks before our shows. Servers must be reliable, able to work in a fast-paced environment, and available on evenings, weekends, and select weekday afternoons. While experience is preferred, we are willing to train the right candidates.
