WHITEFIELD, NH—
Weathervane Theatre is pleased to once again present The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe in the Presidential Hall at the Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa this December. Hailed by Broadway World Jr. as “one of the best pieces of family theatre,” le Clanché du Rand’s theatrical adaptation of C.S. Lewis’s classic will perform on Sunday, November 30th at 1 PM, Thursday, December 4th at 9 AM and Saturday, December 6th at 11 AM.
ABOUT
In Narnia, the land of eternal winter, the White Witch controls all—until a young girl named Lucy arrives. Travel through the enchanted wardrobe with Peter and Lucy for this entertaining and innovative treatment of C.S. Lewis’s tale of the triumph of good over evil.
Reprising their roles from last year’s beloved production are Jorge Donoso and Kelly Strandemo, who star in this two-actor adaptation of this heroic tale of love, faith, courage, and giving.
Jorge Donoso plays Peter and was most recently seen as Leo Bloom in The Producers on the Weathervane stage. Jorge’s seven seasons at the Weathervane include iconic roles ranging from Puck (A Midsummer Night’s Dream) to Paul (A Chorus Line). Jorge also holds a New Hampshire Theatre Alliance Best Actor Award for his performance as Christopher Boone in Weathervane’s The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time. Additional credits include Lincoln Center Theatre, The Drama League of NY, Playmakers Repertory Company, Columbia Stages, PEN America, Pregones/Puerto Rican Traveling Theater, and the Tony award-winning Alliance Theatre.
Joining Donoso is Kelly Strandemo as Lucy. Kelly has performed on stages from off-Broadway to LA to London. Weathervane audiences may best remember Strandemo on stage as Heidi in What the Constitution Means to Me, Genie Klein in Beautiful, and the inaugural season of North Country Shakes. Also a playwright, Strandemo penned 2023’s award-winning Primary and 2020’s The Congresswomen. Kelly’s film credits include CARDIFF, THANK YOU FOR HAVING ME, and HOLD (also the screenwriter).
Kelly revisits the role of Lucy, a role she previously performed off-Broadway.
“Christmas has always been a magical time to me because we get to revel in traditions while simultaneously enjoying the anticipation the season brings, said Strandemo.”
“Returning to The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe, a play I’ve held dear since joining the off-Broadway cast nearly ten years ago, is like hearing your favorite Christmas carol on the radio, or making gingerbread from your great-grandmother’s recipe. It never disappoints and becomes a joyful tradition.”
Weathervane Producing Artistic Director Ethan Paulini directs The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. Additional creative team includes Jeremy Baldauf (sound and lighting design), Rien Schlecht (production design), and Hannah Showalter (costume design). Rien Schlecht stage manages the production. The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe runs 50 minutes and is recommended for ages five and up.
The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe is part of Weathervane’s holiday season, which runs from November 28 to December 6, 2025, at Mountain View Grand Resort & Spa’s Presidential Hall.
