The Theatre counts on your generous gifts throughout the year to help us meet our financial obligations.
Like other not-for-profit arts organizations, the Weathervane relies on charitable giving for up to 40% of the annual budget – not including urgent and unexpected capital expenses like the cost of rebuilding the barn after the fire in 2011.
Together we’ve faced some extraordinary challenges and your continued generosity is always appreciated.
Mission:
The Weathervane Theatre presents live professional theatre to NH’s North Country and the surrounding communities, offering opportunities for residents and visitors to partner with a true cultural resource that can enrich lives, educate and entertain. Affordable ticketing and programs, accessible performance space and scheduled performances are all designed to reach the diverse, and often underserved, population of the region.
There are several ways you can make your gift count:
Annual Fund
Each year, the Weathervane Theatre is tasked with raising over 60% of its organizational budget through grants, sponsors, and individual donations.

Scholarships
Each season, the Theatre provides a scholarship to Camp Windsock to four (4) campers!

Leave a Legacy
Become a member of the Murray-Haas Legacy Circle by pledging a gift as part of your estate planning. Legacy gifts are not specified by amount but by designating the Weathervane as part of your planning.
Your gifts are welcome any time of year.
In addition to the annual fund and general donations, you may designate the Weathervane to receive the following through your will or trust:
– A residual gift
– A fixed gift amount
– A percentage of your estate
– Property or real estate
- Gifts of life insurance or retirement plan assets
- Bank and Investment accounts
It is possible to specify that whatever remains in a bank account becomes a charitable gift that will pass free of estate tax and outside the probate process.
- Gift of appreciated securities
Stocks, bonds, mutual funds and other securities offer special tax benefits allowing you to deduct the full value of such gifts, including any amount that would be owed in capital gains tax if sold.

Our Audience
- On average we welcome over 10,000 theatre enthusiasts from near and far through our barn doors in one season.
- Last year we had visitors from 40 states as well as international guests.
- 60% of our visitors are local
- Over 35% of our patrons return to the Weathervane at least one additional time (some as many as 15) over the course of the season.
Our Season
- Our entire season consists of 10 Mainstage productions (90+ performances) over 4 months plus special events and community programming.
